Professional Life and Practice
Mr. Calzada is a bono fide Texan and native Houstonian. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Calzada worked in mental health as a Psychiatric Technician and a Family Crisis Intervention Specialist for MHMR of Tarrant County, where Mr. Calzada maintained Qualified Mental Health Professional credentials.
Mr. Calzada graduated from the University of Houston Law Center in 2003.While in law school, Mr. Calzada was elected Vice-President of the Student Bar Association, the Hispanic Law Student Association Treasurer and was the Aspiring Youth Committee Head from 2000-2002. Mr. Calzada was also selected to the Mock Trial and Moot Court travel teams and was a 2002 Hippard Mock Trial Semi-Finalist. Mr. Calzada was awarded the 2001 ExxonMobil Leadership Award and the 2002 Dean’s Scholarship for Public Interest Work.
Mr. Calzada started his career practicing medical malpractice in 2003. After helping many clients successfully resolve their legal matters in civil litigation, he was recognized for his efforts and selected as a Texas Super Lawyer Rising Star for 2014 and 2015, Houstonia Magazine Top Lawyers of 2015, and H Texas Magazine Top Lawyers 2016 and 2018.
Mr. Calzada is a proud member of the Houston Trial Lawyers Association and Houston Bar Association.
